A Letter to my Baby Boy-18 Months Old

Better late than never, but I still can’t believe that my little boy is a year and a half old! My goal is to write a letter to my little guy every birthday and half birthday, for not only myself to look back on, but for him to be able to look back on as well. If you missed his 6 month birthday letter you can find it here, and his first birthday letter can be found here.

Grayson,

I can’t begin to explain how proud I am of you. Eighteen months have flown by so fast, too fast actually. You amaze me everyday at what you know and you surprise me daily with new words and actions. You can now say more words than I can count and you are even saying two and three word phrases that are completely understandable. You know what you want when you want it, and if you don’t get it you know what to do to get it! I believe at times you have hit your terrible twos a little early. =) You are able to tell possession of what is yours, mommy’s and daddy’s. You can name where your eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, teeth, eyebrows, hair, head, belly, belly button, arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, toes and “wee-wee” are lol. You still love momma’s milk and I am forever grateful for the bond that we have. You love to color, play with tractors, build with your blocks, climb, and eat crushed ice.

You have such a love for other kids, whom you always call “baby”. You love playing with kids your age and even older. You are still learning to share, but you do so well with other children and I can’t wait until you have a sibling of your own to play with one day. You eat about everything, minus certain vegetables unless I hide them in a smoothie. You still are not fond of the blender and sweeper and will hide and cry until I finish using both. You love being outside, which makes me so excited for warmer weather so we can spend our days outdoors burning off your endless energy. Bath time is still one of your favorite things, whether it be in the shower with dad or in the tub with all of your bath toys.

It’s so hard for me to believe that this year you will be two years old. I seriously feel like yesterday we were just at the hospital having you. You act so much older than what you are that sometimes I forget your still my little “baby”, and when we are out people often think you are already two! Heavens no, my little guy is still a baby don’t make me think otherwise!

I can’t wait to see where your future takes you. You are so bright and I know that you will go great places. You make mommy and daddy so happy everyday. I love listening to you laugh and giggle everyday and I thank God for letting me be your mommy. You are growing up so fast, but always remember you will never  be too old for mommy and daddy. We are your number one fans, always! Thank you for making me a mommy and giving my life such a meaningful purpose. You make my days bright and my heart full.

With all my love,

Mommy
