Happy 1st Birthday my sweet Graysie!

I have waited all day to sit down and write this post for you. I can’t believe that today you are 1! I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. I could sit and replay the day you were born over and over. I can remember every detail, the sounds, the smells. Special days like that are hard to forget.

The day you were born was more special than I had imagined. The intense emotions felt that day will be something we will all carry with us forever. The past year of my life has been one of the best, yet one of the hardest. One day, when you are able to truly understand life I will share with you just exactly how much joy you were able to bring us in your first year. I hope you realize just how much joy you have brought not only me, but many others as well.

Your smile is so infectious. There has not been one day of your life (since you have learned to smile) that you haven’t grinned from ear to ear. As your mommy, that gives me such joy to know that from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep, you are happy. That is all I want you to be in life–happy.

I thank God everyday that I was chosen to be your mom. You make me a better person. You show me that no matter the stresses of life, nothing else matters, but smiling and being happy.

Right now you know nothing but happiness and the occasional throwing a fit, but all in all you only know what it’s like to receive love and happiness from those around you.

I can only hope that for the rest of your life I will continue making you happy. Making you smile and giving you the most hugs and kisses you can possibly get.
